News: Ten organizations received training on fundraising

In April Semillas held a fundraising workshop in Mexico City for 10 Women’s organizations. The goal is to help these groups generate strategies to fundraise, locally and domestically, as well as to foster capacity building-both essentials to guarantee sustainability for the long-term.

Attending organizations: EMAS, Equipo Mujeres en Accion Solidaria, A.C. (Michoacan), Centro para los Derechos Humanos Naxwiin, A.C. (Oaxaca), Producciones y Milagros, Agrupacion Feminista (Mexico City), Red Mujeres del Bajio, A.C. (Guanajuato), FOCA; Formación y Capacitación A.C. (Chiapas), Parto Libre, A.C. (Oaxaca, Morelos and Mexico City), Las Hormigas, Comunidad en Desarrollo, A.C. (Chihuahua), Centro Hermanas Mirabal de Derechos Humanos, A.C. (Guanajuato), Consorcio para el Dialogo Parlamentario y la Equidad, A.C. (Mexico City) and Centro Las Libres de Informacion en Salud Sexual, A.C. (Guanajuato).

In addition, the program includes a grant (US$9,000 for new organizations-5,000 follow-up grant) to carry out fundraising-oriented activities and individual coaching by two experts. The second part of the training will take place in August.

This program developed by Semillas has been funded for three years in a row by Open Society Institute, Sigrid Rausing Trust and International Network of Women’s Funds (with Global Fund for Women support).
We would like to show our gratitude to Rotmi Enciso, Producciones y Milagros, for the photographic record of the workshop.
